🦷 Professional Language Exam Dentists The Professional Language Exam for foreign dentists has been organized by the Düsseldorf and Cologne district governments since 2014.
The 60-minute exam consists of three parts – dentist-patient communication, documentation and dentist-dentist communication – and tests exclusively professional language.

The examinee conducts an anamnesis conversation with a fictional patient, as is common in daily practice.
The examinee explains their suspected diagnosis, explains the treatment plan and documents the anamnesis on a provided form.
Completed dental medicine studies, language skills at B2 level and a passed placement test are required.
For the license, language skills at B2 level, the Professional Language Exam at C1 level and a knowledge test are required.
